A full curriculum for Water and Wastewater Plant Operators as well as Collection and Distribution System Operators is being offered at this year’s conference. This school has been designed to upgrade operational skills, obtain the required Training Units for certification renewal or obtain additional education and aid in helping those studying for certification exams.

The Water course is limited to the first 45 participants. Math classes will be divided into Basic and Advanced. The Distribution / Collection course is limited to 35 participants.
 
The PWO Committee of the RMWEA will offer two tracks for the Wastewater Operator, Advanced (A/B certifications) and Intermediate (C/D certifications). The Wastewater tracks will be limited to 35 participants for each course.
 
The Colorado Mountain College offers dormitory style housing and meals served cafeteria style. Single occupancy room and board for 5-nights is $550 and is limited to a first come first served basis. This will provide lodging from Sunday night through Thursday night; it also includes meals from Monday breakfast through Friday lunch. Check-in for the dorm rooms is handled by the college and starts Sunday after 4:00 pm. If you are taking an exam on Saturday, be sure to register for a 6-night stay, $620. Dorm rooms are available on a first come – first serve basis, and are limited to the first 25 requests.
 
The dorm rooms have limited furnishings. There is no TV, radio or alarm clock. There is free internet via High Speed Wireless. The bed is a single and includes linen, bring your own pillow. There is a common area with a TV lounge and pool table.
 
Discounted cafeteria meal tickets are available for those staying off campus for $185 for the week. Individual meals can be purchased, at full price, at the conference information desk in the cafeteria. No meals are served after lunch on Friday.
 


2018 Leadville Operators Training Conference Information

Sunday

  • Conference Date - July 16 – 20, 2018
  • Meet & Greet Sunday July 15th – Held in the Mountain View Residence Hall 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Snacks and beverages will be served. Sign in for conference and pick up your flash-drive or notebook.
  • Dorm Rooms – Check in for your dorm room at the Mountain View Residence Hall Sunday after 4:00 pm. Room registration is handled by a College Staff member. Rooms have no furnishings other than the bed and linens. Bring your own pillow. Rooms do have Wireless Internet. There is a $25 lost key charge.
Monday
Everyone should meet the Coronado Café: ALL participants should arrive no later than 8:00 am. for a brief Orientation. For those purchasing meals, breakfast will be served between 7:00am and 8:00am on Monday morning prior to Orientation. You can also sign in for the conference and pick up your notebook during that time. Look for our Registration Table near the wood stove. Classroom assignments will be given at this time.
All Week
  • There should be someone at the Registration Table in the Coronado café all week to help you with any questions, concerns or to purchase cafeteria meals (cash or check preferred).
Certification Exams
  • Exams will be held Friday afternoon 1:00pm – 5:00pm and Saturday 8:00am – 4:00pm in the Climax Molybdenum Leadership Center.

Certification Exam (Only those who have been previously approved are eligible to take the exams.  To have been pre-approved, one must have applied no later than March 1, 2018).

CERTIFICATION EXAMS FOR WATER, WASTEWATER, SMALL SYSTEMS, C & D LEVELS, and COLLECTIONS & DISTRIBUTION OPERATORS will be offered on Friday afternoon from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

CERTIFICATION EXAMS FOR ALL LEVELS will be offered on Saturday  from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Be sure to make lodging arrangements for Friday night if you are taking an exam Saturday, the college will have rooms available, but no meals will be served after Friday lunch.

Reservations are strongly recommended for all lodging and camping, this is a very busy time of year for Leadville. There are several more lodging facilities available in town and the surrounding area. Information can be obtained by contacting the Chamber of Commerce:
