Government Affairs Committee

 

The Government Affairs Committee tracks pending legislation and regulations which impact the water and wastewater industry at the local, state and national level. Members of the committee actively participate in stakeholder meetings for various regulations, prepare regulatory updates for the membership, and participate in development on regulations and policies.

  • Inform RMWEA membership of upcoming policy and legislative actions by
    • Publishing articles in Rocky Mountain Water
    • Hosting quarterly presentations from industry professionals
    • Issuing periodic updates in the weekly RMWEA email blasts 
  • Support WEF’s Government Affairs Committee Priorities
  • Participation in CDPHE stakeholder meetings
  • Coordination with Colorado Wastewater Utility Council
  • Recruit members for WEF’s Water Advocates Campaign 
  • Participate in the annual National Water Policy Fly-In to meet with members of congress and discuss water infrastructure needs
