When will you be planning to announce the topic for the mandatory problem set and will it be on this site?
Will there be a review session offered to the teams like last year? |
We have not yet announced the mandatory topic, but hope to get that information out in the next few weeks. We do have a math review session planned this year. It will be Sunday afternoon. (I think at 2:00 pm. But I'll have to double check the time) |

In the preliminary rules it states the topic as Energy and Sustainability, but the final memo it simply says Sustainability. Which is correct? |
The topic is Sustainability. At the time we write the preliminary rules, we don't have any questions created yet. We only have a list of what our volunteers think they will create. By the time we write the final rules, the questions are usually to the draft stage and we have a clearer picture of the scope of the topic. Sustainability is a relatively new and sometimes broadly defined activity. Often it includes activities that we have been doing all along in the interest of reducing costs. |
